A two-player card game
This app features three card games: Four Cards Golf, Six Cards Golf, and Scat. Choose your preferred game from the Settings.
Four Cards Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
Similar to real golf, the objective is to score as few points as possible.
Each game consists of nine rounds. At the start of a round, each player gets four face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, and one card from it is placed face-up to begin the discard pile.
Before play starts, players may take a single look at the two cards closest to them in their square layout. These cards must remain hidden from opponents. Players cannot check these cards again unless they are discarding them during play or tallying points at the end.
On your turn, draw a card from the draw pile. You can use it to replace any of your four cards, but you cannot look at the card you are replacing—try to remember its position. Place the replaced card face-up on the discard pile. Alternatively, you can draw from the discard pile and simply discard the card without using it.
If you draw from the discard pile, you must use that card to replace one in your layout, then discard it. You cannot return the drawn card to the pile without making a change.
You may also choose to knock. Once you knock, your turn ends. Play continues normally for other players, who may draw or discard but cannot knock. The round concludes after this.
Scoring:
- - Pairs of cards with the same value in a column or row score 0 points
- - Jokers are worth -2 points
- - Kings score 0 points
- - Queens and Jacks are worth 10 points
- - All other cards are worth their face value
- - Having all four of the same card awards -6 points
Six Cards Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
Like real golf, the goal is to finish with the lowest score.
Each game has nine rounds. Players begin each round with six face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up to start the discard pile.
Initially, each player must flip two of their cards face-up. Then, they can reduce their card values by swapping for lower-value cards or pairing them in columns with cards of the same rank.
On your turn, draw one card from either the draw or discard pile. You may swap it with one of your cards or discard it. If you swap with a face-down card, the new card remains face-up. If you discard the drawn card, your turn ends. The round concludes when all of a player's cards are face-up.
Scoring:
- - Pairs of cards in a column score 0 points
- - Jokers are worth -2 points
- - Kings score 0 points
- - Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points
- - All other cards are worth their face value
To swap one of your cards with a discard, tap on your card. To play a card from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal it, then tap the discard pile to discard it or tap one of your cards to swap.
