GAMM Is the Biggest Game Museum in Italy Where You Can Share Pieces of Game History

Rome's newest attraction: GAMM, the city's largest video game museum, is now open! Located in Piazza della Repubblica, this exciting museum is the creation of Marco Accordi Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus.

Rickards, a passionate advocate for preserving video game history, describes GAMM as an immersive journey blending history, technology, and interactive gameplay. The museum builds upon the legacy of Vigamus, another successful Rome-based gaming museum that has welcomed over two million visitors since 2012.

GAMM boasts 700 square meters of exhibit space across two floors, divided into three captivating thematic areas. Before we delve into the details, take a quick look at the museum!

Explore the Worlds Within GAMM

GAMMDOME: This digital playground features interactive exhibits alongside authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. The exhibits are designed around the 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

PARC (Path of Arcadia): Step back in time to the golden age of arcade games! This section showcases classic coin-op games from the late 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s.

HIP (Historical Playground): Delve into the mechanics of game design! This area allows visitors to analyze game structure, interaction mechanics, and design principles, offering a behind-the-scenes look at gaming history.

GAMM is open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets are 15 euros. Visit the official GAMM website for more information.
