Live-Action Lilo, Cobra Bubbles, and Pleakley Revealed in New Lilo & Stitch Trailer

by Noah May 13,2025

The eagerly awaited official trailer for the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has finally dropped, offering fans an exciting glimpse into the world of this beloved Disney classic. The trailer showcases Maia Kealoha stepping into the iconic role of Lilo, previously brought to life by Daveigh Chase in the 2002 animated original. Kealoha's portrayal promises to capture the essence of Lilo, bringing fresh energy to the character while honoring the original.

While Stitch has been a prominent feature in previous teasers, this trailer shifts the spotlight to Lilo, giving audiences a deeper look into her journey. Alongside Kealoha, we see Courtney B. Vance as the serious yet endearing Cobra Bubbles, and Billy Magnussen as the quirky Pleakley. An intriguing plot twist reveals Jumba, played by Zach Galifianakis, and Pleakley adopting human disguises on Earth, although we catch a brief glimpse of Pleakley in his alien form.

The trailer also recreates several iconic scenes from the original film, including Stitch's dramatic entrance resembling a falling star, his transformation into a dog-like creature at the shelter, and the heartfelt moment when Lilo utters the memorable line, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."

Lilo & Stitch is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025, marking another milestone in Disney's series of live-action remakes of cherished classics. This release comes shortly after the live-action adaptation of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, scheduled for March 21, 2025.
