In the thrilling world of *Path of Exile 2*, like in many action RPGs, you'll find various methods to enhance your character's power. Some are straightforward, while others require a bit more digging. Let's dive into the art of anointing in *Path of Exile 2*.
How To Get Distilled Emotions in Path of Exile 2
Anointing becomes an option later in your journey through *Path of Exile 2*, as you'll need Distilled Emotions to do so. These crucial items are obtained from Delirium Maps, much like Blight Oils were in the first game. You'll encounter ten types of Distilled Emotions: Despair, Disgust, Envy, Fear, Greed, Guilt, Ire, Isolation, Paranoia, and Suffering.
The primary method to acquire Distilled Emotions is by conquering Delirium Maps, which reward you with a random mix of these emotions upon completion. Additionally, you can secure them through currency exchanges or the vibrant trade market within the game.
To upgrade your Distilled Emotions, head to the Reforging Bench. Here, combining three of the same type of emotion will yield an upgraded version of that emotion, offering you greater control over which emotions you collect.
For those seeking a challenge, tackling Simulacrum waves can also drop Distilled Emotions. However, this method is less efficient than Delirium Maps and requires a robust build to navigate successfully.
How To Anoint Items in Path of Exile 2
Currently, in *Path of Exile 2*'s Early Access, you can anoint both Waystones and amulets. To anoint an amulet, you'll first need to select a Distilled Emotion to access the Instilling window. The specific emotion doesn't matter at this step. Place your amulet in the central box, followed by a Distilled Emotion in each of the three boxes at the bottom. The emotions you need for a specific anointing ability are listed in the Passive Skill Tree. Simply hover over a Notable Passive Skill and press alt on a keyboard or R3 on a controller to see the requirements.
The same anointing process applies to Waystones, making them more challenging but also potentially more rewarding in terms of loot. Keep in mind, however, that neither amulets nor Waystones can be anointed if they are corrupted.
Armed with this knowledge, you're now equipped to enhance your amulets through anointing, tailoring your build to your playstyle, or pushing your limits by anointing a Waystone in *Path of Exile 2*.
*Path of Exile 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
