Gems are crucial in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, providing significant combat advantages. This guide details how to acquire and craft these powerful items.

Acquiring Pyroxene: The Gem Precursor

To craft Gems, you'll first need Pyroxene. This raw material is obtained after joining Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1. Visit an Inn to receive a letter from Zhang Fei, explaining the Gem crafting process and the need for Pyroxene.

Pyroxene is found throughout the game world as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so keep an eye out while traveling between battles. Additionally, you can earn Pyroxene as rewards for completing side quests, collecting Old Coins, and reading letters at Inns.

Crafting Gems: A Matter of Chance

Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to begin crafting. The crafting process is randomized. Regardless of the amount of Pyroxene used (one or ten), the resulting Gem type is unpredictable. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem in the crafting menu indicates that only that specific Gem type can be crafted during that visit.

Leveling Up Your Gems

Repeatedly crafting a particular Gem type will increase its effectiveness. These enhancements provide various combat buffs. Since you can initially equip only one Gem at a time, strategic Gem selection is crucial. For instance, the Wellspring Gem, which heals you for every 100 enemies slain, is ideal for large-scale battles. Conversely, the Ascendence Gem, boosting your chance of blocking officer attacks, is better suited for duels. While initial buffs are modest, they become increasingly impactful over time.
