It's natural to wonder why Rockstar, with its 21 million followers, would spotlight a small British film. And who exactly is Danny Dyer? Let us break it down for you.

Who is Danny Dyer?

Danny Dyer, whose full name is Daniel John Dyer, hails from East London. He's a household name in the UK, known as an "absolute legend." For those unfamiliar with British slang, the term "legend" refers to someone who is funny, reckless, original, and sensitive in the right measures, as per Urban Dictionary. Since starting his acting career in 1993, Dyer has carved out a niche playing rough-and-tumble working-class characters, reflecting his outspoken persona on societal and governmental issues. He's often seen as a "tough uncle" figure, evident in his advice to a Zoo magazine reader in 2010 to go "on a rampage [drinking session] with the boys" after a breakup.

Dyer's entertaining social media presence further cements his legendary status. Here's one of his memorable posts:

Roll on bonfire night..........it's gonna get strapped to a great big massive fuck off Rocket so it can join the other Furbys in the sky...

How is Danny Dyer Connected to Rockstar?

If you're a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, you've likely encountered Danny Dyer's voice before. He lends his voice to Kent Paul in GTA: Vice City, managing the Scottish rock band Love Fist. He reprised this role in GTA: San Andreas, where Kent Paul managed the Gurning Chimps and later produced for rapper Madd Dogg.

However, Dyer's connection to Rockstar goes beyond voice acting. In 2004, he starred in "The Football Factory," a British film directed by Nick Love and produced by Rockstar Games. This film delves into themes of football hooliganism, heavy drinking, drug use, and British humor.

"Marching Powder," the new film releasing in the UK and Ireland, reunites Dyer with Nick Love. Although not a sequel to "The Football Factory," it shares similar themes. Rockstar's post about "Marching Powder" is a nod to their past collaboration with Dyer and Love, not an indication of involvement in the new film.

Is Vice City's Kent Paul Returning for GTA 6?

The short answer is: we don't know. And the social media post about "Marching Powder" has no bearing on GTA 6. However, let's indulge in some speculation. Could Kent Paul make an appearance in Grand Theft Auto 6?

It's crucial to understand that the GTA series is divided into two distinct eras: the 3D era (PS2 and PSP games) and the HD era (GTA 4 onwards). These are separate universes, with no direct storyline continuity between them. This is why GTA 5's Los Santos differs from San Andreas' version, and why characters from the PS2 era aren't directly mentioned in GTA 4 and 5.

Despite this separation, there are instances of overlap. Grove Street from San Andreas appears in GTA 5, and several gangs from the 3D universe, like the Ballas, are present in the HD universe. Lazlo, the infamous character, has appeared across both eras. Notably, Kent Paul has his name on the Vinewood Walk of Fame in GTA 5.

So, could Kent Paul return in GTA 6? It's certainly within the realm of possibility. However, a post about "Marching Powder" on X doesn't bring us any closer to confirmation.
