Featuring rapid arcade-style action and cameos from numerous NBA stars, NetEase's Dunk City Dynasty has undoubtedly carved out its own niche. Its acclaim extends beyond just the player base, as the game recently secured the Google Play Award for Best Multiplayer Game.

The Google Play Awards are a familiar fixture to veteran mobile gamers, but newcomers may not know that these honors recognize some of the highest-rated and most popular titles available on the platform. Dunk City Dynasty's recognition arrives at a pivotal moment, coinciding with its next major multiplayer event.

Held in Shanghai, China, starting today, the Dunk City Dynasty Global Championship Finals feature elite players competing for the majority of a $100,000 prize pool. The three-day tournament concludes on November 23rd, and fans can watch the action live on Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.

Aiming for victory

The choice of China as the host location might seem surprising given basketball's deep roots in American culture. However, the NBA enjoys immense popularity among Chinese fans, rivaling or even surpassing its status in the United States.

As for the competition itself, it offers a chance to witness top-tier players pushing Dunk City Dynasty to its absolute limits. With several notable personalities expected to attend the finals, keeping an eye out for surprise appearances is highly recommended.

In other award news, Dunk City Dynasty has also been nominated for the 12th annual Pocket Gamer Awards. Make sure to cast your vote and support NetEase's basketball hit!
