Fell Omen Returns: Elden Ring Testers Experience Morgott Jump-Scare Invasions

by Victoria Apr 10,2025

The Fell Omen bosses have become legendary in Elden Ring, and their inclusion in Elden Ring Nightreign adds an exciting twist to the Lands Between. Morgott, a notorious adversary from the original game, makes a thrilling return. Known for his surprise appearances in Elden Ring, Morgott's legacy continues in Nightreign as an unnamed Fell Omen, capable of startling players with unexpected invasions.

Morgott isn't the only boss who can disrupt your journey in Nightreign, but his presence is particularly apt. His invasions echo his sudden appearances in the original game, and in Nightreign, he's equipped with new voice lines and additional moves to challenge players. It's a fitting upgrade, especially when facing him alongside two friends.

Beyond invasions, the Fell Omen can also serve as a formidable end-of-night boss, presenting a climactic battle as the sun sets during the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Early testers, including renowned players like Let Me Solo Her, have faced off against Morgott during the Nightreign sessions. The community's reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Morgott's invasion mechanic as a standout feature. Players have reported encounters in diverse locations, from elevators to towers, leading to some amusing and memorable moments.

The success of Morgott's invasions has sparked interest in seeing other iconic enemies from the Souls series appear in Nightreign. For instance, the Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 could make a compelling addition. Personally, the idea of Hunters from Bloodborne invading is tantalizing, though it remains a distant dream.

There's even more depth to the Fell Omen's invasions, with reports suggesting that defeating a player might leave a curse mark, hinting at intriguing new mechanics. As more players engage with Nightreign, these features are sure to evolve and captivate.

Despite some server issues during the initial network test, many players were able to explore the Lands Between over the weekend. We'll need to wait until May 30 for the full Nightreign experience, but in the meantime, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign for more insights.
