Final Fantasy 14 Updates Chaotic Raid Rewards System

Final Fantasy 14 is set to introduce a significant change to the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid reward system in Patch 7.16, following player feedback. Starting January 21, players will be able to exchange Clouddark Demimateria 1 for Clouddark Demimateria 2. This adjustment aims to enhance accessibility to popular items such as the Dais of Darkness mount and the A Half Times Two hairstyle, which require 75 and 49 Clouddark Demimateria 2 respectively.

The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid was introduced in Patch 7.15, offering players a challenging encounter with the final boss from A Realm Reborn’s World of Darkness raid. The latest iteration incorporates mechanics from Shadowbringers’ Eden raid series. Clearing this raid grants players Clouddark Demimateria 1 and additional Clouddark Demimateria 2 based on first-time clears.

While the exact exchange rate between the two types of Demimateria remains undisclosed, this change reflects the developers’ commitment to addressing player concerns. Prices for the mount and hairstyle may fluctuate on the market board once the patch launches. Square Enix has indicated that further adjustments could follow based on ongoing feedback, keeping the community engaged as new raid content rolls out in 2025.
