Forza Horizon 5 Speeds Onto PlayStation 5: Release Date Confirmed!

Following last month's announcement, the highly anticipated arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 now has a firm release date: April 25th for Premium Edition owners ($99.99), and April 29th for everyone else. This confirmation comes directly from an official website announcement, which also detailed a simultaneous game update across all platforms on April 25th.

The "Horizon Realms" update introduces four new vehicles, a redesigned racetrack within the Horizon Stadium, and a nostalgic selection of fan-favorite environments from previous iterations.

As previously revealed, the PS5 version will boast parity with its Xbox and PC counterparts, offering complete access to all Car Packs and expansions, including Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.

Forza Horizon 5 joins Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny as Xbox exclusives making the leap to PlayStation. This move by Xbox, a pioneer in cross-platform first-party releases, fuels ongoing industry discussions about the viability of exclusive titles, especially considering the escalating development costs and potential sales limitations they impose.

Having awarded Forza Horizon 5 a perfect 10/10 upon its Xbox/PC debut, IGN wholeheartedly recommends this open-world racing masterpiece to PlayStation gamers. Our review lauded it as "the pinnacle of racing game development, the best open-world racing game ever created."
