Games Radar reports the discovery of these tapes on Ron South's YouTube channel, a platform run by a film enthusiast with a modest following. The collection includes auditions from Cavill, Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr.

Cavill's audition has garnered significant attention, with many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, praising his "tremendous" performance. Campbell reportedly favored Cavill, but ultimately, other executives chose Craig.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in the film Argylle, starring alongside a prestigious ensemble cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara.
