The live-action Lilo & Stitch remake has finally made its way to theaters, sparking mixed feelings among fans. Our review gave it an impressive 8 out of 10, but the fear of tarnishing memories of the beloved animated original looms large. If you’re planning to catch it in theaters, you’re in luck—it’s now showing at standard, IMAX, and even some 4DX screens across the country. Fandango, AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Theaters all have the latest showtimes.
For those preferring the big screen, IMAX and 3D formats add an extra layer of immersion. However, if you’d rather wait until it hits digital, be prepared for a longer wait. Historically, Disney live-action films arrive on digital platforms between 45 and 65 days post-theatrical release. Based on this timeline, we could see Lilo & Stitch hitting digital in July or August. As for Disney+, expect the wait to stretch closer to 100 days, potentially landing in late August or early September.
If revisiting the original animated classic is more your speed, you’re in luck. Lilo & Stitch remains available on Disney+, and there’s even a brand-new 4K edition that recently dropped—a must-have for collectors. Prime Video also offers the option to rent or purchase the original.
As for the cast of the live-action version, Maia Kealoha takes on the role of Lilo, with Chris Sanders reprising his iconic voice role as Stitch. Other notable performances include Sydney Agudong as Nani, Billy Magnussen as Pleakley, and Zach Galifianakis as Jumba. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film brings a fresh take to the beloved story while staying true to its roots.
