The acclaimed French studio Don't Nod, known for their work on Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their latest narrative-driven game. Players can now immerse themselves in Tape 1, with Tape 2 set to be available at no extra cost to all purchasers starting April 15.
First announced in 2023, this game unfolds the story of a tight-knit group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer resurface, unleashing chilling repercussions that none of them anticipated.
Taking cues from iconic stories like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game seamlessly weaves together elements of nostalgia and psychological suspense. The developers have opted to release the game in two distinct segments—Bloom and Rage. As of today, February 18, only the first part of this eerie narrative, Bloom, is accessible.
The eagerly awaited second installment, dubbed "The Tape," is slated for release on April 15. Initially planned for a March debut, the release was postponed to guarantee a more refined experience for players.
With the review embargo now lifted, OpenCritic has reported an average critic score of 74/100, indicating a promising launch for this enthralling mystery.
