The anticipation for the next season of *Daredevil* is building, and fans are buzzing with excitement over the possibility of a *Defenders* reunion. Entertainment Weekly (EW) recently featured an in-depth profile where Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming and TV, shared insights into the potential revival of the street-level heroes—Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.
While no official plans have been confirmed, Winderbaum expressed enthusiasm about the idea, stating, “It’s certainly exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We’re dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television.” He further noted, “But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring.”
*Daredevil: Born Again* is set to be a direct continuation of the story that began on Netflix. The platform once hosted its own Marvel universe, featuring shows like *Jessica Jones*, *Iron Fist*, and *Luke Cage*. Winderbaum’s comments suggest that *Daredevil: Born Again* could serve as a launchpad to bring these characters back to life on Disney Plus, under Disney’s creative control. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the new season marks another successful transition of a Netflix hero to Disney Plus.
As we await the premiere of *Daredevil: Born Again* on March 4, it remains to be seen how this series will connect with the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and whether it will pave the way for a *Defenders* reunion.
