Marvel Teases Swimsuit Skins for Rivals in Summer Comic Special

by Riley May 02,2025

Marvel is gearing up for another exciting Swimsuit Special comic book release, and it seems that NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals is set to dive into the summer festivities with its own collection of swimsuit skins.

A recent post on the Marvel website has given us a tantalizing glimpse into what might become the long-awaited Marvel Rivals swimsuit cosmetics. Marvel promises to bring back the fan-favorite series on July 9 with Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes, and Rivals #1. This issue will offer Earth's Mightiest Heroes a much-needed respite from their world-saving duties, and more importantly, it will include a sneak peek at designs for Marvel Rivals.

"Roxxon Comics is at it again when they release their own UNAUTHORIZED SWIMSUIT SPECIAL," the description for the Marvel Swimsuit Special reads. "Wasp is on the case and seizes the opportunity for Marvel's heroes to do their OWN swimwear fashion shoot all over the world! But fear not, True Believers, we know what you're REALLY here for! This super-sized special features splash page after splash page of gorgeous art, but with a story so you can pretend you're 'reading it for the articles…'"

While Marvel hasn't revealed specific details about the launch date or which characters will be featured in the collection, the subject matter of the special strongly suggests that summer-themed cosmetics could be on the horizon. As we approach the release date, we can expect more information on how this ties into Marvel Rivals.

Since its launch in December, Marvel Rivals has captured the hearts of multiplayer fans on both PC and consoles. The game's competitive nature and extensive character roster have kept players engaged, with many focusing on improving their skills while others eagerly await news on post-launch content. The possibility of a Marvel Rivals swimsuit collection has been a hot topic among fans, and it appears their wishes are about to come true.

When it comes to predicting the launch of these swimsuits, we can look at a few hints. Marvel Rivals Season 2 recently introduced Emma Frost and the Hellfire Gala, and with the season slated to end in about three months, it's reasonable to anticipate the new outfits launching with Season 3, likely around July or August. This timing aligns well with NetEase's previously announced schedule and allows fans to enjoy the summer-themed outfits just before the season ends.

Alongside Season 3, NetEase will introduce new post-launch plans, shifting to shorter two-month seasons. This means that players can look forward to at least one new playable hero every month in the foreseeable future.
