Starting the Quest

To initiate the Master Schindel's Toys quest, you must first embark on the main mission titled "Into the Underworld." During this mission, your primary objective is to locate an informant known as Goatskin. Begin your investigation at the bathhouse by speaking with the Bathhouse Madam. She will direct you to Adam, who will inform you that Goatskin is responsible for stealing Master Schindel's items.

Finding Goatskin

To draw out the elusive Goatskin, you have two options: speak with Lousy Mary or follow Udo. The latter is recommended. Udo, a regular customer, can be found on the first floor of the bathhouse in the evening. Instruct him to leave, and discreetly follow him. Goatskin will attempt to rob Udo in an alley, providing you with the perfect opportunity to confront him.

Obtaining the Map

During your interaction with Goatskin, try to acquire a map from him. If you fail the skill check, you can bribe him with money. Goatskin will then reveal that the Map of Kuttenberg Underground can be found on a corpse at the Kuttenberg gallows, situated on the southeastern side of the city.

Retrieve the map from the hanging corpse. This map is essential for navigating the challenging underground area.

Locating the Stolen Items

To quickly find the stolen items and complete the Master Schindel's Toys quest, enter the underground area from the northern side of the open area. Descend the ladder to enter the Kuttenberg Underground. Ensure you have a torch, as the area is pitch black.

Navigate through the underground by consistently turning left at each junction until you reach a dead end with a barrel. You may need to jump down to a lower section at some point. Continue making left turns until you find Goatskin's hidden stash. Examine the barrel to retrieve a book and an astrolabe.

Completing the Quest

Return to the surface using the same path. Find Master Schindel on the northeastern side of the city during the day. Initially, he may seem irritable, but upon returning his stolen items, he will warm up to you. Engage in further conversation with him to learn about the astrolabe and the workings of the planets.
