Capcom recently hosted an exciting Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing a plethora of new content and updates for the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series. The much-anticipated Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 4, 2025, and it promises to be a free update for all Monster Hunter Wilds owners. Alongside this update, players can look forward to both free and paid DLC options, enhancing their gaming experience even further. New hubs, armor sets, and cosmetic items are on the horizon, promising to refresh the fashion aspect of the game. Additionally, new monstrous challenges await eager hunters.
What aspect of the update excites you the most? Share your thoughts below!
A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with a detailed look at the new endgame hub, known as the Grand Hub. This area is designed to enhance the social aspect of the game, offering numerous activities for hunting parties. Players can feast together, participate in arm wrestling, enjoy the Diva's nightly performances, and even engage in a fun Barrel Bowling mini-game. Vouchers earned through various in-game activities can be used to access more rewards. The Grand Hub becomes accessible once players reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
A highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the elegant yet deadly Mizutsune. This monster brings swift tail strikes and powerful water jets to the battlefield, challenging hunters in the Scarlet Forest. To take on Mizutsune, players must reach Hunter Rank 21 or above and speak with Kanya to start the quest. Conquering this beast will reward players with new gear to craft.
Additional Hunts on the Way
Title Update 1 also introduces a new Event Quest featuring the formidable Arch-tempered Rey Dau. This fight promises to be more challenging than typical Tempered encounters and requires players to be at least Hunter Rank 50 to participate. Successful hunters can earn new armor. Additionally, Zoh Shia, previously a one-time fight in the main story, will be available for repeated battles through new quests after reaching Hunter Rank 50, offering new armor crafting opportunities.
Arena Quests
For speedrun enthusiasts, Arena Quests provide a platform to test their skills and compete for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests are available, with pendants awarded for participation and achievements. These can be accessed through the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
The dedicated handler Alma is receiving some much-deserved attention with new cosmetic options. Players can now change Alma's attire through an appearance menu in camp, with one new outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission will also allow players to customize Alma's glasses.
More DLC is on the Way
Alongside Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLC will be released. Free additions include classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games, available in the in-game store. Paid options, such as those in the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, can be purchased separately or are included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. New stickers and additional looks for Alma are also on the horizon.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
Further enriching the game, more Event Quests and Seasonal Events are scheduled. During Seasonal Events, the Grand Hub's appearance and available meals will change, offering limited-time equipment, gestures, decorations, and more. The first Seasonal Event, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starts on April 23, introducing pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has confirmed that most previous events and Event Quests will return in the future.
The Roadmap Ahead
Title Update 1 and its associated content will be released progressively. It arrives on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will appear on April 29, and by the end of May, other features and a Capcom collaboration are expected.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a glimpse of the upcoming Title Update 2, set to launch this summer. While no specific date was given, the teaser hinted at the possible return of the iconic Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, now causing chaos on the surface.
