Mortal Kombat Unleashes Conan the Barbarian in Gameplay

Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive character reveals. Yesterday's esports trailer teased T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the immediate addition to the roster. Instead, Conan the Barbarian arrives next week for premium edition owners, with today's release of his gameplay trailer.

Conan's gameplay showcases a powerful, heavy-hitting style. His attacks appear devastating, though his lack of agility and speed is apparent. This might be offset by his sword's extended reach. It will be intriguing to see how he fares against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander.

While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular impact of some other MK1 finishers. His acidic demise of opponents feels somewhat underwhelming. However, gameplay is paramount, and Conan promises entertaining combat.

Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while everyone else must wait until January 28th.
