"People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta"

by Aaron Apr 07,2025

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the project remain under wraps.

The studio is currently juggling an impressive lineup of projects, each with its own codename. Among these are Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being crafted with Krafton, while Project Red appears to be another venture with Sony. Additionally, People Can Fly recently announced that Project Bison, their venture into VR, would be their last in that space.

In a series of updates last year, People Can Fly made significant adjustments to their project portfolio. In December, they announced the suspension of work on Project Victoria and the scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, the studio decided to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in development with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.

With a robust pipeline and a history of creating engaging titles, People Can Fly continues to be a key player in the gaming industry, promising exciting developments in the years to come.
