Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some beloved gadgets from the past. The festivities will begin with a special event starting on May 1st, 2025, offering players a trip down memory lane.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with unique decor, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s, much to the excitement of retro gaming fans.
Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be available, paying homage to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. These designs are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.
The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage in missions and collect new Pikmin varieties. Completing Event Challenge missions will grant random rewards including Game Button Cells, seedlings that grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other valuable items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
May will see the blooming of large flowers, which can transform into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when planted with red, yellow, white, or blue petals.
An exciting nectar update accompanies this event. Fruits obtained from mushrooms in May will provide nectar for regular flowers, as well as the special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
In addition to these features, Pikmin Bloom's 3.5th anniversary includes a Community Day event. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and prepare for a month of celebration.
