"Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage Launches on Mobile Soon"

by Sadie May 13,2025

Among the most eagerly awaited releases I covered last year, one standout was the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws was a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder that launched when the genre was still fresh and exciting. Now, its sequel is set to make waves with a Q3 release this year!

This "seaquel" brings you back to New Elysia for another thrilling journey across the ocean waves. Simply select your character, class ability, and starting deck, and embark on your voyage!

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you'll have the freedom to choose from multiple characters, each with seven class options, allowing you to customize your deck extensively. You can even recruit an animal companion, adding further strategic depth to your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have a variety of tools at your disposal to conquer the high seas!

Pirates Outlaws 2 promises to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to explore back and forth across the map with even more permutations and possible combinations of cards and characters. For PC gamers, an upcoming Steam demo will offer the first chance to get your hands on Pirates Outlaws 2!

However, I have one minor concern: the animations in the reveal trailer seem a bit static. While fully animating these illustrations is challenging, I hope the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it hits mobile later this year.
