Pokémon TCG Pocket has now crossed 150 million downloads worldwide

The game is also set to launch a new expansion called Mega Rising

Plus, there are updates to trading and the Wonder Pick feature!

Despite a somewhat rocky beginning, Pokémon TCG Pocket has evolved into a massive hit. That's clearly shown by its latest major achievement—over 150 million downloads across the globe! And for players who’ve joined the journey, there’s exciting news on the horizon.

Introducing Mega Rising

Mega Rising is the name of the latest expansion, launching on October 30th. As expected, it brings big new additions to Pokémon TCG Pocket. Most excitingly, it features Mega-Evolved Pokémon and a fresh wave of cards. Three new booster packs will arrive with the release: Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria.

A new way to share cards

This month also brings the debut of a new sharing feature. Starting October 30th, players can send one to four rarity cards to friends. You can share one card per day and receive one in return through this new option.

Trading made better

The core trading system is getting key updates. In addition to one-to-four rarity cards and one-star rarity cards being tradeable, two-star cards and Shiny 1 to Shiny 2 cards are now eligible for trades too.

Wonder Pick gets a boost

The Wonder Pick feature is also being enhanced. Unobtained cards from the latest expansion will appear more frequently. Plus, each card in a Wonder Pick will now display how many versions you already own. These changes aim to improve features that sparked mixed reactions in the community.
