Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, titled Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game promises to deliver an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
In Project 007, players will have the unique opportunity to step into the role of the world's most renowned Secret Agent and embark on the very first James Bond origin story. "Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer revealed, setting the stage for what promises to be an immersive and thrilling experience.
Back in October, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, shared insights with IGN about crafting a fresh origin story for the iconic spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained to IGN. He further emphasized the ambition behind the project, stating, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While fans eagerly await the release of Project 007, a specific release date has yet to be confirmed. To stay updated on all the latest announcements from the Nintendo Direct, you can find more information here.
