Relic Entertainment, the masterminds behind the acclaimed Company of Heroes series, are setting their sights on a new venture with "Earth vs. Mars," a turn-based strategy game set to launch this summer on PC through Steam. This innovative title promises a unique twist on the genre, drawing inspiration from the beloved Nintendo DS classic, Advance Wars, while introducing players to a world where they must defend Earth from a Martian invasion using an array of bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids, crafted via the ingenious Splice-O-Tron. Imagine commanding forces that include the likes of a Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly in your battle against extraterrestrial foes.
According to Relic, the Martians have been surreptitiously visiting Earth for decades, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they've launched a full-scale invasion, and it falls to a determined group of commanders to lead Earth's resistance. Players will strategize and command Earth's military against the Martian's advanced technology, including high-tech saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors, in a desperate fight for survival.

Earth vs. Mars is packed with features designed to keep players engaged. The game offers a comprehensive 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer where you can choose to fight as either Earth or Mars, a VS Mode to test your skills against the game's AI, and a map editor for those who love to customize their gaming experience.
"We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles," stated Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell. He further elaborated on Relic's new strategy, which involves not only continuing to develop the traditional RTS titles they're renowned for but also exploring smaller, indie-style games. This approach allows them to delve into new sub-genres, foster creativity, and release games more frequently.
