Fans of the time-twisting RPG Reverse: 1999 have much to look forward to with an upcoming livestream on April 18th. This event will not only reveal details about the game's 1.5th anniversary but also offer a first look at the content for version 2.5, titled 'Showdown in Chinatown'.
The livestream, hosted in-character by Captain Regulus and the new character Officer Liang Yue in chibi form, promises to be engaging. Viewers can anticipate exciting giveaways, including codes, and the chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 through a competition.
While version 2.5 has been extensively previewed for Chinese players, it's known that 'Showdown in Chinatown' pays homage to Hong Kong martial arts films with a thrilling crime narrative centered around capturing an arcanist vigilante. The update introduces Officer Liang Yue, who uses martial arts, and Noire, a wheelchair-bound director with the unique ability to control her ideal actors against enemies. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, will also appear.
Though the exact content for international versions will be confirmed during the livestream, fans can expect nods to iconic filmmakers like the Shaw Brothers and John Woo in version 2.5.
