by Lily Mar 19,2025

RuneScape celebrated its triumphant return to RuneFest in 2025, the first since 2019! This year's festival brought exciting news for both Old School RuneScape and the main RuneScape game.

Old School RuneScape players were treated to a trio of major updates. Sailing, a brand-new skill, sets sail, introducing nautical vessels and a whole new way to explore. Experienced players can test their mettle against Yama, a fearsome new boss, adding challenging endgame content. Finally, an HD upgrade enhances the game's visuals without sacrificing its classic low-poly charm.

Beyond these headline features, RuneFest 2025 unveiled Project Zanaris, a new modding platform for Old School RuneScape, with playtesting now open.

Meanwhile, the main RuneScape game welcomes Leagues, a highly anticipated feature, and the captivating new region of Havenhythe. This expansive area introduces deadly Vampyre bosses, thrilling new locations, engaging skilling activities, and a wealth of quests, ensuring players will be entertained well into 2026. Havenhythe promises a vast amount of new content to explore and conquer.
