Newman expressed his disbelief on a Discord server, stating, "Can you believe the cheek?" This sparked a viral controversy. While Newman has confirmed the issue is now "resolved," the identity of the party who sent the DMCA remains undisclosed.

The DMCA targeted "unauthorized Skibidi Toilet Garry's Mod" content, which the sender claimed generated substantial revenue. The notice specifically mentioned the use of characters like Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, and Titan TV Man, all allegedly protected by registered copyrights.
