Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the early stages of developing a new film that would feature Deadpool alongside several X-Men characters. According to THR, this ensemble movie would not focus solely on Deadpool; instead, he would share the spotlight with three or four other X-Men members, who would take center stage and be "used in unexpected ways."
This project is distinct from the X-Men movie being developed by Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie. Reynolds is known for refining his ideas independently before presenting them to Marvel, a process he also followed with Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially was envisioned as a low-budget road trip movie.
While no specific X-Men characters have been confirmed for this new film, Deadpool has a history of teaming up with various members of the X-Men in previous movies, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
