Samago: 24-Hour Frog Challenge Launches on Android

Samago has just launched for mobile devices, a new pixel-art platformer developed by the Finnish indie studio This Reality. This game is entirely centered around frogs—yes, in all varieties, colors, and sizes—and it's structured as a 24-hour challenge. If you suffer from ranidaphobia, this game is definitely not for you!

What is the gameplay like in Samago?

In the game, you take control of frogs as you race through carefully crafted platforming stages. Each stage remains active for exactly 24 hours, and players across the globe receive the same layout during each cycle.

Once the timer expires, the leaderboard resets and a brand new course is generated. It’s a daily challenge system designed to test your adaptability, offering fresh obstacles and experiences every day.

As you advance through each level, navigating treacherous obstacles and enemies, you’ll also encounter ghost versions of other players. Be careful—these phantom frogs can snatch your coins if you're not paying attention. Yikes!

Observing how other players tackle each course can provide valuable strategy insights, but it also introduces an extra layer of risk to every run. With that in mind, take a look at Samago in action below.

If you prefer to avoid the daily time pressure, there's also a Practice Mode available. In this mode, the level changes every time you lose a life, rather than lasting a full 24 hours.

This allows you to sharpen your platforming skills at your own pace. Once you feel confident, you can return to the main mode to compete for high scores against other players.

Extensive customization options

You can personalize your frogs with a variety of skins, outfits, and special trails that are visible to other players. The skins come in many different colors, as do the costumes and trails. Imagine a bright pink frog sporting a quirky cowboy outfit and leaving a trail of green flames behind. Additionally, the game lets you decorate your frog’s home with collectible furniture and accessories.
