Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo Is an Actual Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Playable Character

by Oliver Apr 12,2025

In a surprising twist that blends sports and gaming, Cristiano Ronaldo, often hailed as one of the greatest footballers alongside Lionel Messi, is set to make a groundbreaking appearance as a playable character in the upcoming fighting game, *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves*. This marks one of the most unexpected guest character inclusions in recent fighting game history.

Ronaldo, who is currently a forward for Al Nassr FC in the Saudi Pro League, will be part of the game's launch roster. SNK Corporation, the developer and publisher behind the game, has released a trailer showcasing Ronaldo's integration into *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves*. The trailer highlights Ronaldo's reimagination in the game's distinctive comic-inspired art style, complete with football-themed attacks. Notably, Ronaldo's command move, "Headed Clearance," and his ability to perform a slide tackle, are central to his in-game moveset. Additionally, fans will recognize his iconic 'Siuuu' celebration, although Ronaldo's voice is provided by actor Juan Felipe Sierra rather than Ronaldo himself.

Here’s the official description of Ronaldo's character:

One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to play for Al Nassr FC, a club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Interestingly, SNK Corporation is now almost entirely owned by the Saudi Crown Prince's foundation, adding a unique layer of connection between Ronaldo's real-world affiliations and his presence in the game.

*Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* is slated for release on April 24, 2025, and promises to deliver a dynamic art style, a mix of new and returning fighters, and updated battle systems that will enhance the gaming experience.
