Splatoon 4 Speculation Intensifies

Nintendo has confirmed the end of regular content updates for Splatoon 3. However, the game isn't entirely abandoned. Holiday events like Splatoween and Frosty Fest will continue, along with ongoing monthly challenges, weapon adjustments, and balance patches as needed.

The official Twitter (X) announcement stated: "After 2 INK-credible years of Splatoon 3, regular updates will come to a close. Don't worry! Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will continue with some returning themes! Updates for weapon adjustments will be released as needed. Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will continue for the time being."

This announcement followed the September 16th conclusion of *Splatoon 3*'s Grand Festival, commemorated with a video showcasing past Splatfests and the Deep Cut trio's performance. Nintendo's farewell message: "Thanks for holding down the Splatlands with us, it's been a blast!"

Launched two years ago on September 9th, Splatoon 3's shift away from active development has reignited speculation about a sequel, Splatoon 4.

Some players believe they've uncovered potential easter eggs or hints within the Grand Festival event, suggesting a new city setting for the next game. One fan commented on a post featuring in-game images of a metropolis: "Doesn't look like Inkopolis. Perhaps the setting of Splatoon 4?" Others remain unconvinced, pointing out similarities to existing locations in Splatoon 3.

While unconfirmed, rumors of Splatoon 4 development for the Switch have circulated for months. The Grand Festival, being the final major Splatfest, further fuels this belief. Past Final Fests have significantly influenced subsequent sequels, leading to speculation about a "Past, Present, or Future" theme for Splatoon 4.

For now, official confirmation regarding Splatoon 4 remains elusive. Fans eagerly await any news from Nintendo.
