by David Apr 27,2025

Heads up: music streaming giant Spotify encountered an outage this morning, leaving many users unable to enjoy their favorite tunes. According to Downdetector, reports of the Spotify outage started pouring in around 6 a.m. PT today, and the issues persisted throughout the morning. Our team at IGN experienced similar difficulties; while we managed to open the app sporadically, it consistently failed to play any music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the situation and is actively working to resolve the issues. The company has also debunked rumors circulating about the outage being linked to a security hack, confirming that these reports are false.

We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
