Square Enix Hints at Visual Upgrades for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5

The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to the PS5 version but also offers a more stable performance, sparking discussions within the gaming community about the necessity for an update on Sony's console. Currently, players on the PS5 are experiencing blurry visuals when using performance mode, leaving base console owners with no choice but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged that improvements are feasible within the technical constraints of the PS5.

"After releasing the promo for the PC version, we received numerous requests for a similar update for the PS5 version," Hamaguchi stated. "We are considering this, aiming to enhance the PS5 version's performance within its technical limits."

The gaming community is eagerly anticipating that Square Enix will respond to these fan requests and enhance the visual quality on consoles. While the development team is diligently working on the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked fans to remain patient, promising that more details will be shared in due time. He highlighted that 2024 was a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered global attention and numerous awards.

Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII poses unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the immense pressure on the Rockstar Games team following the phenomenal success of GTA V.
