How To Study a Historical Display in The Sims 4 Blast From the Past Event

by George Mar 15,2025

Week two of The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event is in full swing, sending players on a scavenger hunt to unravel the mystery. However, a seemingly simple task—studying a Historical Display—is proving unexpectedly tricky for some. Here's how to overcome this hurdle.

One of Week 2's quests requires studying a Historical Display at a museum. Longtime players will likely know their local museum's location. New players should open their map and look for the pillar icon. While four museums exist in the base game, the Municipal Museum in Willow Creek and The Future's Past in Oasis Springs are conveniently located near other Blast from the Past tasks.

How to Study a Historical Display

Once you’ve arrived at a museum, locate either a painting or sculpture (both count as Historical Displays). Click on the chosen item and select “View.” The completion of the quest will be indicated by the appearance of the Emit icon.

Despite the quest's simplicity, many players report difficulties. Mods appear to be interfering, preventing the "View" option from functioning. Some players have even removed all mods, but the problem persists. Hopefully, EA will address this issue soon. Until then, try examining multiple items in various museums.
