Tencent Unveils Martial Arts Masterpiece: 'The Hidden Ones'

by Emily Jan 04,2025

Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action game, formerly known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is reborn as The Hidden Ones, slated for a 2025 release. A pre-alpha test is planned for January.

This action-packed title, based on the popular webcomic, transports players to modern-day China, following the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan. His grandfather's seemingly ordinary martial arts techniques are revealed to be highly sought after, thrusting him into a world of intense conflict.

The recently released gameplay trailer showcases impressive visuals and introduces secondary protagonist Wang Ye. Expect exhilarating parkour sequences, dynamic 3D martial arts combat, energy projectile exchanges, and thrilling brawls.

The Hidden Ones' darker, grittier aesthetic sets it apart from other 3D ARPGs. While not photorealistic, this grounded style adds a unique visual appeal. The game's success, however, hinges on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material.
