Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but lacked deep synergistic reactions. Version 2.0 introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive buffs.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

While some elemental effects existed previously (e.g., Glacio's freeze), Version 2.0 expands this mechanic to all six elements. Each element inflicts a unique status effect, often a damage-over-time (DoT) effect. Dodging removes these stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:

Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with them:

Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:

• Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle via its Resonance Skill (Resonating Spin), applying 2 stacks and preventing stack decay via the Shimmer effect. This sustained application is crucial for maximizing the benefits of specific Echoes and Echo sets.

Echoes and Echo Sets:

• Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Inflicting Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
• Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix deals 273.60% Spectro DMG; DMG increased by 100% against Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies; +12% Spectro DMG Bonus.

While currently niche, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests a potential future shift towards more complex and interactive gameplay in Wuthering Waves.
