Yama, the New Boss, Emerges in Great Kourend in Old School RuneScape

by Ethan May 25,2025

Old School RuneScape's latest update plunges players back into the tumultuous world of Great Kourend, where an ancient and malevolent force has awakened. Introducing Yama, the Master of Pacts, a formidable new boss who has been biding his time in the fiery depths of the Chasm of Fire. This fire-drenched minotaur demon is ready to unleash his wrath upon those brave enough to challenge him.

If you've completed the quest A Kingdom Divided and dealt with the Royal Titans, you're already familiar with the story. After confronting Yama's Judge in 2021, it was clear that the true menace was still lurking—complete with wings, horns, hooves, and a menacing two-handed axe. Yama is not alone; he is supported by the Disciples of Yama, a group of fervent fire-worshippers dedicated to his cause.

Designed for high-level players, the battle against Yama requires completion of the quest, top-tier combat stats, and the best gear available. Whether you choose to face him solo or with a group, the rewards are worth the challenge. Defeating Yama grants access to valuable loot such as Demon Tallow for brewing Surge Potions, the Chasm of Fire Teleport Scroll, new Grimoire Pages, and other hidden treasures.

The Chasm of Fire has also been expanded to include a dedicated area for mining and smithing. Here, you can gather the rare resource, Crimson Lovakite, exclusive to this fiery realm. With it, you can craft the new Oathplate armor set, adding significant power to your late-game arsenal. Even if boss fights aren't your thing, the Chasm offers plenty of reasons to explore.

Dive back into the political intrigue and infernal depths of Great Kourend by downloading Old School RuneScape on your preferred platform. For more information, visit the official website or follow the X page to stay updated on all the latest developments.
