How to Play the Okey Game
The offline Okey game is traditionally played with four players. Each player sorts their tiles using a cue stick. The game includes tiles in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, plus two fake Okey tiles, totaling 106 tiles.
At the start, all tiles are mixed and automatically distributed. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups or pairs based on their cues.
The remaining undistributed tiles are placed in the middle of the table. The open numbered tile in the center serves as the indicator stone, and the tile matching its color and number is the Okey Stone, which can be used in place of any tile.
If you finish the game by discarding an Okey tile, your points are doubled. In normal play, you aim to form at least three pairs, either by arranging tiles of the same color in sequence or by grouping tiles of the same number across different colors.
For a pair formation, arrange all your tiles into pairs, and when you have seven pairs, you can end the game by dragging the last tile to the center of the table.
In the indicator rule, at the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's the same color as the Okey, points are deducted; otherwise, two points are subtracted from the other players.
The game concludes based on the final tile discarded. If it's not an Okey, it's a normal finish, deducting 4 points if it's Okey-colored, otherwise 2 points from other players. Completing the game with seven pairs deducts 4 points from others. Finishing with all tiles in the same color, ordered from 1 to 13, results in a 'color finish,' setting other players' points to zero. If the tiles are the same color but unordered, 8 points are deducted from others.
