This Android application brings the experience of Gunjin Shogi—also known as communication warrior shogi—to your mobile device, allowing you to enjoy intense matches anytime, anywhere. Please note, however, that this version does not support online multiplayer battles.
In Gunjin Shogi, you must strategically guess your opponent's piece types from the pieces you capture. Your ultimate objective is to locate and capture the enemy headquarters (HQ). However, be cautious—if your own HQ is discovered and taken by the opponent, you lose the game.
The app offers multiple play modes to suit all skill levels:
- Normal Match: Choose your preferred difficulty level for the computer opponent, ranging from "Beginner" to "Advanced".
- Campaign Mode: Learn the rules and mechanics through an easy-to-follow tutorial. You can also play through special scenarios featuring historical figures like Naofumi Tatsumi and Maresuke Nogi.
- Referee Mode: Designed for real-life gameplay, this mode acts as a neutral third party when playing with physical pieces, eliminating the need for a human referee.
