Blackjack

程序描述

Blackjack stands as the most widely played table game in casinos.

Introduction

Blackjack is the most popular casino table game, available at nearly all online casinos. Its low house edge and manageable variance make it an excellent choice for clearing bonuses when permitted.

Rules and Play

In blackjack, hands are scored by adding the values of the cards. For instance, a hand with a 4, 5, and 6 totals 4+5+6=15. Face cards are worth 10 points each. Aces can count as either 1 or 11, so an ace and a 7 can be valued as 8 or 18. The goal is to achieve the highest total without exceeding 21. A total over 21 is a bust, and the player loses the bet regardless of the dealer’s hand. A two-card 21 is called a "blackjack," the highest-ranking hand, which pays a bonus at 3:2, while other wins pay 1:1.

After placing a bet, the player and dealer each receive two cards, with one of the dealer's cards face-up. Under standard rules, if the dealer shows an ace or 10-point card, they check for a possible blackjack. If the dealer has an ace showing, the player may buy insurance against a blackjack, paying 2:1 if the dealer’s other card is a 10 or face card. The house edge on insurance ranges from 2% to 15%, making it generally unfavorable except in specific situations like a tens-rich deck or when card counting. If the dealer has a blackjack, the hand ends; otherwise, the player decides how to proceed with options such as:

Stand — The player keeps their cards and ends the hand.

Hit — The player takes another card and can continue hitting until reaching 21 or busting.

Double — The player doubles the bet and receives one more card, ending the hand. This is only allowed on a two-card hand, and no further hits are permitted.

Split — If the player has two cards of equal value, they can split them into two separate hands, doubling the bet. Each hand receives an additional card. Splitting aces ends the hand after the second card, while other splits allow further actions like hitting, standing, or doubling, with possible additional splits.

Strategy

Despite the complex rules, optimal strategy for blackjack is straightforward. Players have no control over which cards are dealt or the dealer’s actions. The basic approach involves placing a bet on either the banker or player, then waiting for the dealer to reveal the cards to determine the outcome. Banker bets typically have a slightly lower house edge than player bets, so the optimal strategy is simply to bet on the banker.
