Pokemon TCG Pocket has announced new Shining Revelry expansion, arriving later this month

by Emily May 25,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket ebbs and flows, but nothing reignites my passion quite like a new expansion. I dive deep into the game when a fresh set drops, eagerly playing to earn those coveted Emblems by racking up over 40 wins. Once that initial excitement wanes, I settle into a daily routine: logging in, opening my packs, and indulging in a fun Wonder Pick before moving on with my day. This cycle will kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, set to launch on March 27th.

Shining Revelry is bringing a whopping 110 new cards to TCG Pocket, featuring an array of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and those stunning art cards we all adore. The highlight, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, these are special, differently colored versions of your favorite Pokemon. Picture a yellow Lucario instead of blue, or a Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, offers just a glimpse of the excitement to come, but let's delve into what we know. A new Shiny Charizard Ex is making its debut with 180 HP and a powerful attack, Steam Artillery, dealing 150 damage at the cost of five energy. That's a hefty requirement, but fear not—its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards in one go, making it easier to unleash that devastating attack.

Another exciting addition is Lucario Ex. Previously a supporting player in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is ready to take a more direct role in combat. With 150 HP, it's not the most resilient, but its Aura Sphere attack is a game-changer. For three Fighting Energy, it deals 100 damage to the active Pokemon and an additional 30 to one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

The trailer also teases other cards that may not be game-changers but are certainly eye-catching. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the horizon, each with their unique flair. And let's not forget the gorgeous Tatsugiri art rare, a must-have for my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available on the App Store and Google Play, free to play with optional in-app purchases. If you're intrigued, you can easily download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
