Finn Jones Acknowledges Critiques, Determined to Prove Critics Wrong with Iron Fist

by Thomas May 01,2025

The successful transition of Charlie Cox's Daredevil from Netflix to the MCU has sparked speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Iron Fist, has expressed his eagerness to reprise his role, stating at the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, "I’m here and I’m ready." This declaration comes seven years after Jones last played Danny Rand in Season 2 of the Iron Fist Netflix series and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).

Despite the lukewarm reception to Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist, the integration of Daredevil into the MCU has fueled hopes for a revival of The Defenders. Recent reports suggest that Marvel is "exploring" the possibility, adding to the anticipation. Jones acknowledged the criticism he received but remains hopeful, directly addressing fans and Marvel with a passionate plea: "Give me a f***ing chance, man. I want to prove people wrong."

The narrative continuity established with Daredevil: Born Again—a direct continuation of the Netflix series—has officially canonized the Netflix shows within the MCU. This integration not only includes Daredevil but also extends to other characters like Jon Bernthal's Punisher, who will appear in Daredevil: Born Again. With the Netflix universe now part of the larger MCU tapestry available on Disney+, the potential for other Defenders to make a comeback seems more plausible than ever.
