Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC Now $1,000 Off

by Simon May 15,2025

The best high-end prebuilt PCs often come with a hefty price tag, but that doesn't mean you can't snag some incredible deals that will save you a substantial amount of money. Currently, Dell is offering a fantastic deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 GeForce RTX 4090 gaming PC, now priced at $3,699.99 after a generous $1,000 instant discount. With the price of standalone GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards on the rise, costing at least $2,000 from reputable vendors, building your own DIY PC might not be as cost-effective as you'd think. Moreover, opting for a prebuilt PC like this one comes with the added benefit of an all-inclusive warranty, providing peace of mind alongside top-tier performance.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC is a powerhouse, featuring an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 4TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the top Intel gaming CPU available, excelling not only in gaming but also in productivity tasks. Known for running hot, this CPU is effectively cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply, ensuring stable performance under heavy loads.

The RTX 4090 stands as the most powerful GPU on the market, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke praised the RTX 4090, stating, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. Additionally, the RTX 4090 is the go-to consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs

NVIDIA's upcoming RTX 5000 series GPUs are slated for release starting at the end of January. While the RTX 5090 is expected to be more powerful, it will also come with a significantly higher price tag, starting at $2,000 for the Founder's Edition. Availability could be a challenge at launch. The RTX 5080, launching at $999, may also face supply issues. We plan to benchmark these cards soon, but they will feature less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not immediately surpass the 4090's dominance.

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, boasting a 40% smaller volume compared to its predecessors. It employs a proven airflow pattern, drawing air through side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm front fan, with exhaust facilitated by a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations may not include liquid cooling, we typically recommend those that do, as Alienware's liquid cooling solution significantly outperforms their stock air cooling and justifies the additional cost. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in appearance and design.
