Arcane skins are unlikely to return to Fortnite

Cosmetic items play a crucial role in Fortnite, as players love to show off various cool skins. Epic Games has created a model where a lot of skins that already exist in the game are regularly rotated in the store. This often leads to agonizing waiting periods.

For example, Master Chief returned to the shop after a two-year hiatus, and the original skins Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper became available after an even longer time, but these skins eventually appeared. Unfortunately for Arcane fans, the return of Jinx and Vi might never happen.

Fortnite players have long wanted the main characters from Arcane to return, and after the release of the second season, this request has grown exponentially. Unfortunately, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill made an unhopeful statement during his stream.

Tryndamere said that the question of returning the skins depends on Riot, but that they only did the collaboration for the first season. After a wave of disappointment on social media, Merrill sweetened the pill by saying that he would try to talk to the team, but nothing was guaranteed.

I wouldn't place high hopes on the return of these skins. The hypothetical profit from sales wouldn’t hurt Riot Games, but on the other hand, the idea of their content, their intellectual property, encouraging players to transition from one service game to another doesn’t seem very well thought out. League of Legends is going through tough times, and if some of its audience were to move to Fortnite because of skins, it would be quite unpleasant.

Maybe the situation will change in the future, but for now, it's best not to entertain false hopes.
