Mastering Assists in Marvel Rivals: A Guide to Support and Strategic Play
Many Marvel Rivals players focus solely on securing kills. However, the game's challenges often require racking up assists, a mechanic some find tricky. This guide explains how to earn assists and highlights the best characters for the task.
Understanding Assists in Marvel Rivals
The Marvel Rivals stats screen displays kills, deaths, and assists. Assists are less frequent than kills because their criteria are specific. Simply dealing damage, even without landing the final blow, doesn't count as an assist. Assists are earned exclusively by supporting teammates through healing, shielding, or incapacitating enemies to set up an ally's finishing move.
This makes healers and tanks ideal for racking up assists. Damage-focused players may need to adjust their strategy to complete assist-based challenges. Fortunately, certain characters excel at providing support.
Top Characters for Assists in Marvel Rivals
Jeff the Land Shark: While not the most potent Strategist, Jeff's bubbles and stream offer substantial healing flexibility, boosting teammate survivability and assist opportunities.
Mantis: The premier support character for assists. Her healing abilities combined with Spore Slumber (which incapacitates enemies) create ideal setups for allies. The challenge lies in securing her early in a match.
Peni Parker: A strong tank option for those who prefer a less direct support role. Her Cyber-Web Snare immobilizes enemies, making them easy targets for damage dealers.
Doctor Strange: Another excellent tank choice. His powerful shield keeps allies alive, allowing them to secure kills while he earns assists.
Storm: The top Duelist for assist farming. Her Weather Control enhances ally damage and speed, leading to quicker enemy eliminations and more assist opportunities.
