Atomic Heart Hits 10M Players, More DLC Coming

by Eric Jun 04,2025

Atomic Heart has reached a significant milestone by attracting 10 million players since its launch in 2023. Although this figure reflects players rather than sales, it remains a notable accomplishment. Available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, the game's developer, Mundfish, described it as a surprising breakthrough for an unfamiliar studio, establishing a new benchmark for visual and cinematic standards in first-person shooters. The title garnered over 60 "Best of the Year" awards and introduced three narrative-focused DLCs, with another in development.

Released in February 2023, Atomic Heart is a first-person adventure shooter set in an alternate reality during the peak of the Soviet Union. Praised for its creativity and inspiration drawn from atompunk, the game received an 8 in our review, noting its ambitious attempt to follow in the footsteps of titles like BioShock, despite some missteps, showcasing strong potential.

Mundfish is launching a new initiative called Mundfish Powerhouse to assist developers and investors in bringing exceptional projects to market.
