Beat Infected Missions in '7 Days to Die'

by Logan Feb 20,2025

This guide details completing Infested Clear missions in 7 Days To Die, focusing on initiation, completion strategies, and rewards.

Initiating an Infested Clear Mission

To begin, visit one of the five traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, or Joe). Mission difficulty depends on the tier (higher tier = harder) and biome (Wasteland missions are tougher than forest missions). Infested missions unlock after completing 10 Tier 1 missions, presenting a greater challenge than standard clear missions with tougher zombie types (radiated, cops, ferals). Tier 6 missions are the most difficult but offer substantial rewards for well-prepared players. The objective remains consistent across all tiers: eliminate all enemies within a designated area.

Completing an Infested Clear Mission

Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the area or dying results in mission failure. Avoid the obvious path (often illuminated) to bypass potentially deadly traps. Carry building blocks to escape traps or create alternate routes for surprise attacks. Track zombies using the red dots on the screen (larger dot = closer proximity). Prioritize eliminating Screamers to prevent hordes. Avoid hitting the chest of Demolition Zombies to prevent explosions. For all zombies, aim for the head. Specific zombie types present unique challenges:

Zombie Type Abilities Countermeasures
Cops Spit toxic vomit, explode when injured Maintain distance, use cover when they cock their heads back.
Spiders Jump long distances Listen for their screech before they jump; prepare for quick headshots.
Screamers Summon other zombies Prioritize eliminating them.
Demolition Zombies Carry explosive packages Avoid hitting their chests.

The final room contains high-tier loot, but also a large number of zombies. Ensure you're fully healed and prepared before entering. Once all zombies are eliminated, report back to the trader. Besides standard loot, you'll find an Infested Cache containing valuable supplies.

Infested Clear Mission Rewards

Rewards are random but influenced by game stage, loot stage (boosted by the Lucky Looter skill and Treasure Hunter mod), mission tier, and perk selection. The "A Daring Adventurer" perk significantly improves rewards; at rank 4, it allows selecting two rewards instead of one. Sell unwanted items to the trader for additional XP.
