Bug Out Event Returns with Sizzlipede Debut in Pokémon Go

by Nicholas Apr 28,2025

Get ready for the return of the Bug Out event in *Pokémon Go*, set to take place from March 26th to 30th. This event is a paradise for Bug-type enthusiasts, featuring the debut of Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch, along with a plethora of wild encounters, exciting raids, generous bonuses, and fresh challenges that will keep you engaged throughout the event.

During the Bug Out event, Lure Modules will be your best friends. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but if enough Pokémon are caught using a single Lure Module at a PokéStop, you'll see an increased number of Pokémon appearing there, enhancing your catching opportunities.

You're in for a treat with the bonuses on offer: earn double XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with boosted chances of receiving Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. Shiny hunters, rejoice! You'll have a better chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede during this event.

The wild will be buzzing with Bug-types, featuring frequent appearances from Pokémon like Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Keep an eye out, as you might just stumble upon the elusive Cutiefly.

Sizzlipede will make its presence known in one-star raids, joining forces with Scyther and Nincada. Meanwhile, three-star raids will be dominated by Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event-exclusive Pokémon.

Don't miss out on the free Timed Research, which offers encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, plus a Lure Module. For those looking for additional rewards, the Paid Timed Research option, available for $2 or its local equivalent, includes encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, along with two Premium Battle Passes and an extra Lure Module.

Engage in the new Collection Challenges for a chance to earn Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters. PokéStop Showcases will also spotlight event-themed Pokémon, so be sure to participate. And don't forget to check out the in-game shop for the new Sizzlipede Boots and Scolipede Jacket to complete your Bug Out look.
