Dispatch Episode 4: Who to Romance?

DispatchSPOILER ALERT: This article explores plot developments in Dispatch Episodes 1-4 and the first four comic books. If you haven’t caught up yet, proceed with caution.

Dispatch Episode 4 finally advances Robert’s romantic storyline. Read on to discover more about his love interests, the pivotal decision at the end of Episode 4, and its potential impact on the rest of the series.

Who Should You Romance: Blonde Blazer or Invisigal?

Follow Your Heart; Trust What Feels Right

DispatchAnyone who has played through Dispatch Episode 4 knows how difficult the final decision can be. While Episode 3 ended with a painful choice that lacked a clear "right" answer, Episode 4 feels like there is no wrong option. By the end of the episode, Robert must decide whom to spend his evening with: a dinner date with Blonde Blazer or a movie night with Invisigal. It may not seem like the biggest decision in the world, but for many players, it carries significant weight. This marks the first time we, as Robert, choose between either of the two romance options after half a season’s worth of tension builds between him and these characters.

Of course, you could have avoided flirting with both throughout earlier episodes. The game doesn’t force romances on you; however, it does provide small moments between Robert and the two superheroes to help you decide how far their relationship should go.

Even if you’ve kept things professional until now, Episode 4’s ending won’t let you stay neutral. You must pick who Robert spends the evening with—you can’t bail out by hanging out with Beef, his dog, instead.

Dispatch Episode 4 Final DecisionLet me set the scene: At the end of Episode 4, after a long day’s work, Robert finds himself alone in the office, debating whether to head home to his empty apartment. Just as he’s about to pack up, an alert flashes on his computer: Invisigal is "outside coverage area." It turns out she’s fine—just watching a rom-com alone at the movies. They talk for a while until his phone buzzes. Robert receives a text from Blonde Blazer asking if he’s free for late dinner. He pauses, unsure of whom to respond to first.

Again, there is no wrong answer here. Both Blonde Blazer and Invisigal have their own appeal, and most players will likely choose based on who they’ve grown more attached to—or perhaps who they’ve fallen for after a few scenes of "propaganda." The game doesn’t punish you for choosing one over the other, but whichever option you select, "X will remember that."
