A Decade in the Making

The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, facing numerous delays spanning almost a decade. Initially started in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, the project (then codenamed "Joplin") was impacted by BioWare's focus shifting to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem. Further complicating matters, the initial design clashed with the company's live-service strategy, leading to a complete development halt.

In 2018, the project was revived under the codename "Morrison," eventually announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.

Despite the setbacks, the game is nearing completion. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled to launch this fall on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Prepare yourselves, Thedas awaits!
